Format can be defined as a way in which something is arranged. Formal letters, articles all follow a format and some publishers insist on a particular format.

The Set Procedure In Indian Wedding Card Format

Format is an inseparable part of formal communication and every formal communication follows a particular format. Indian wedding card format is almost the same in the whole country but for some small differences. The card starts with images of gods or has some religious symbols. This feature is seen in cards of all religions. A happy occasion needs blessing and this is used for invoking the blessings.

The parents’ names are highlighted in bold colour with a bigger font. Their contact details are also given below their name. The parents request the company of the guests for the wedding and it is written well with right words. Usually the message is conveyed in two or more sentences and the tone of the wedding is set through the invite. Usually this is the standard feature seen in format of Indian marriage invitations.

The bride and groom are introduced and their names are highlighted in bold with a different coloured ink in bigger fonts. Their details are also specified in detail in some cards while the names are only mentioned and the educational qualifications are omitted in some. This is followed by the description of the events. The main event is highlighted while the other events are also mentioned.

The Highlight Of The Event

The marriage date, time and place are mentioned. In Hindu cards the muhurtham is specifically mentioned and other functions like the reception and mehendi are mentioned separately in the card. The guests can choose their convenient time to attend the function. This is the accepted Indian wedding card format and this has been followed from the longest time.

Some changes in the format are the bride and groom inviting the guests when they are printing the card and in such cases the names of parents are not mentioned. Usually the formal invitation is printed by the parents and they follow the traditional style.
